The Nissan Micra is an ideal car to take driving lessons in for the following reasons.
Large Windows giving good all around vision.
Very Light Steering (good for maneouvres).
Adjustable Steering Column and Seat height.
Plenty of Headroom for taller pupils.
The car has a manual 5 speed gear box.
Air Conditioning for your comfort
The car has been fitted with dual controls for your safety. If at any time I feel you need assistance to gain back control of the car I can use the pedals to assist with any difficulties you may experience. You will be able to drive with the knowledge that although you are training I will not allow you to be put in any danger.
INSIDE THE (COCKPIT)
This is the inside of the car which for learning purposes we will call The Cockpit.
If you are learning to drive for the first time then your first lesson will be getting used to this environment.
I will teach you how to position yourself correctly in the drivers seat. You will be shown what the different controls are for and how to operate them safely. Getting an understanding of why we use each of them and when we use them.
If you have driven before then you can spend some time familiarizing yourself if this is a different car from any you have driven before.
UNDER THE BONNET
Although not everyones idea of fun it is important to get a basic understanding of what is under the bonnet.
I will teach you how to identify and check that a vehicle has the correct amount of fluid in the engine coolant, power steering, brake fluid and windscreen washer reservoirs.
This is important for all drivers to know and should be checked on a regular basis. Your knowledge will also be checked on the day of your practical test when the examiner will ask you 2 questions in the 'show me tell me' part of your test. These questions could be about the various reservoirs.
